The paper is dedicated to evaluation of relations between different forms of shareholder equity and debt. The main objective is the assessment of the strategy of financing assets applied by the manufacturing companies, operating in Lodz region. The strategy may depends on the level of technological advance of production. The research is based on the unpublished financial data concerning the situation of manufacturing companies from Lodz region, from the years 2004-2008.
