Author provides a comparative international perspective of the relationship of privatization and emergency medical services (EMS) in the context of emergency management and the related consequences of privatization.  The methodology involves a synthesis and critical evaluation of the impact of privatization from an international perspective utilizing a comparative analysis of international case studies and survey data from prominent scholars and international agencies and research firms to explain the effects of privatization on emergency medical services , medical  staff ,  first responders ( outreach workers), patients  and related issues. Based on the existing survey data and international case studies, author recommends strategies to prevent and reduce the adverse impact of privatization.
