The integration degree of equity market in slovakia and Poland with the euro area market

The aim of paper is answer the following questions:

1)      What is the degree of equity market integration with euro area equity market  in the case of Poland and Slovakia on the background of euro area’s equity market integration?

2)      What experience concern Slovakian equity market integration with equity market in the euro area are important for Poland from the point of view of future membership in euro area?

 Critical analyzes of theoretical aspects of financial markets integration in the monetary union. Statistical and econometric analyzes of available data concern integration of Polish and Slovakian equity market with the euro area’s equity market (Eurostat and original Polish and Slovakian data). Monthly statistical data (1999:1- 2001:10) will be used. Author will apply price-based measures of integration degree, especially news – based measures.

 Analysis will show tendencies concern changes of integration degree with euro area equity market in the period of 1999-201. On the base of the analysis’ results Author is going to formulate conclusions concern future Polish membership in the euro area.
