Presentation Title: In defense of moderation in monetary policy

Biography: John Williams is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Previously, he served in various positions at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He also served as senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University, a Master's of Science in economics from the London School of Economics, and an A.B. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Williams' research focuses on monetary policy under uncertainty, innovation, productivity, and business cycles. He has published numerous articles in leading research journals. Dr. Williams currently serves as the managing editor of the International Journal of Central Banking.
