In February 2016 the quality management system requirements based on the International Organization for Standardization in the Czech Republic (the CSN EN ISO 9001:2015) were updated. Every organization implementing the quality management system must now determine a new element risk-based thinking in their procedural approach.  The organization's goal is to achieve improved results and prevent negative effectsThe organization must then plan actions to address risks and opportunities associated with its context and objectives.  Then, the organization implements these actions into its quality management system processes, and evaluates the effectiveness of these actions (ISO /FDIS 9001, 2015). Each organization can select the form of integration of the risk-based thinking itself. The ISO 9001:2015 standard did not require implementation of the risk management process.  This research seeks to analyze the implementation of this new requirement.

The authors describe integration of the risk-based thinking methodology into several organizations in the plastic cluster in the Zlin region of the Czech Republic, and aim to explain which processes should be subject to risk evaluation, and why. The authors also explain which formal methods of risk management can be used, and the benefits of these methods. This research is also focused on discovering which authorized job position deals with risk management. The authors have used a quantitative research - structured interview and a questionnaire. The new trends in risk management at several production organizations will be demonstrated in this article.
