F49-1 HOW DOES "ECONOPHYSICS" INTERPRET THE CURRENT ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRISIS?
This session has as theme to explore how techniques of analysis and models used in the econophysics movement can explain the current economic and financial crisis. The session will have as purpose to assess whether those techniques and models have so far been successful. The session will attempt to answer questions such as: "What are the shortcomings of such models?"; "What are the benefits of such models?"; "How can econophysics models be (further) embedded in economic and financial theory?"
