The paper focuses on comparison of the reaction of the economies of new EU members of post-socialist provenience, like Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary to the impulses coming from the external world.
To strengthen comparability of results – econometric minimodels of these economies are based on the yearly data taken from the UN sources, expressed in US$ recalculated to PPP (purchasing power parity) basis. The models have the same theoretical framework. The models are subject to shock analysis, where shocks represent impulses external to the investigated economies..
The resulting multipliers characterize reactions of the economies, their distribution in time to shocks. Differences in reactions are discussed in the context of the dominant characteristics of the economies
Preliminary character of the report is due to the limitations of the statistical data. Further research based on quarterly rather than yearly data is to be reported.
