The objective of the paper

In the article we discuss various activities that road transport companies undertake in order to adjust their companies to functioning on European Common Market. In majority of the cases firms concentrates their efforts on searching for new business partners and export markets as well as introducing innovative solutions and more developed offer which determine its market potential. Among those aspects more and more often arises the question about transport sector and public procurement market. The objective of this paper is stated in the following research questions:
- What is the market potential of transport and storage sector in Poland? – statistical analysis
- What is the role of the transport and storage companies on the public procurement market?
- To which extent the EU funds helps to develop the transport and storage enterprises in Poland?
Data/methodology
Analyzed data will come from the EU official documents as well an national documents in order to present distribution of the structural funds and cohesion fund on transport sector and other sectors of the economy. Moreover national statistics concerning actual situation of transport sector will be analyzed. In order to discuss the importance of transport sector on public procurement market in Poland results of empirical research will be presented.
Results
The broad analysis will give a full understanding of how attractive is public procurement market for Polish transport and storage companies. Moreover it will be statistically proven the importance of market potential of transport sector for Polish economy.
