In the paper the banking sector in China in the years 2006 - 2007 is analyzed. Investigation is provided applying concentration and efficiency measures as well as clustering methods. The high level of concentration of the sector is shown. The level of efficiency is determined based on financial coefficients. We also construct aggregated indicators that can be used for the bank ranking in multidimensional space. Using grouping methods the clusters of similar banks are constructed.
