A composite spatial indicator for social welfare

Welfare, happiness or subjective well-being is conceived to be the degree of how one views one’s life as a whole as favourable. But, how can subjective well-being be captured? The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of literature and statistical models to elaborate and optimal indicator to measure these ambiguous concepts. Also, in this work we present a spatial complex indicator to measure the well-being in Spain using social variables provides by National Statistical Institute.
