Economic Growth, Education, Health and Trade openness: A Cross-region and a Cross-Country Analysis
One of the challenging questions in economic growth literature is to explain why different regions and countries of the world differ in economic growth. Recently, there has been a great deal of research on economic growth and its diversity across the globe. However, theories and empirical analysis about economic growth consistently diverge.
The aim of this study is twofold. Firstly, a comparative analysis of economic growth of the two regions in Asia: South Asian countries and East Asia-Pacific region countries. I will analyze how economic growth differs in these two regions and to what extent economic and social diversity impact regional economic growth. Secondly, a cross-country study of a group of emerging economies evaluating the impact of education, level of economic growth, health and technological progress on economic growth will be pursued.
Expected Results: It is expected that the impacts of education, trade openness, and health on economic growth are compromised due to the differences in rule o law and degree o corruptions prevailing in the sample countries.
