Innovation through Procurement: Survey Results

In private sector innovation equals invention and commercialisation. However, it is much more difficult to define and measure innovations in the public sector.

The European directives proposed a framework for “procurement for innovation”.

The paper presents result of own survey conducted among public procurement entities in Poland in 2010. Investigations were dedicated to such procurement which might encourage on innovativeness of enterprises being potential suppliers of goods and services. Different types of public procurement entities have been asked it they apply and drive forward appropriate  procurement practices which could have consequences of innovation.
