The objective of the paper

The main goal of this paper is to characterize the present course of action and possible future perspectives for the development and the full integration of the Polish public procurement market with the European market.
Data/Methodology

The gathered data will come from the official documents and publications as well as other documents, reports and analyses regarding public procurement at the disposal of the Public Procurement Office. Moreover the analysis will be based on own empirical research.
The results

The system of public procurement in Poland exists since 1994. After Poland’s accession to the European Union the national public procurement market is under process of integration with the common public procurement market of the EU. In the process of integration two main aspects should be indicated:
-         prescriptive aspect (legislative)
-         economic aspect
The analysis will concentrate on the outcomes that arrive from the transposition of the EU directives to the Polish legislation system. The process of law integration is not only important from the perspective of the national institutions but it has further implications for any economic operators who compete for the award of the contract.
