O52-3 (2122) IMPACT OF EU ENLARGEMENT AND EMU CREATION ON COMPANIES
The EU enlargement is an opportunity for the European continent. It constitutes a guarantee of growth in terms of quantity and quality, of the production capacities of internal market. In the light of assessments, the “new” member countries are considered to be likely to adopt the euro in the near future. It is reasonable to expect that they will be ready to join the euro as soon as possible after fulfillment of the Maastricht convergence criteria will be met. The special purpose of this session is to develop aspects related to the economic and social consequences of the EU enlargement and integration with the EMU.
